Midcentury Italian Chandelier circa 1970s. This extremely unique piece, with six glass petals was designed with small air inclusions that give the glass a spongy appearance and pleasantly diffuse the light. The glass of considerable thickness is amber and transparent, enhanced by the chrome and brass rod in the center which reflects the light.
Mazzega chandeliers are characterized by their use of hand-blown Murano glass often in geometric shapes or textured forms, combined with metal frames of chrome, steel, or brass. The designs are known for their fusion of traditional Italian glass artistry with contemporary, futuristic aesthetics.
