Moroccan Beni Mguild handwoven with terracotta, honey and black wool in an elaborate Berber symbol design. Dimensions: 7' x 9'4
Beni M'Guild rugs are thick, hand-knotted wool rugs from the Middle Atlas mountains of Morocco, crafted by the Beni M’Guild Berber tribe. Patterns often represent Amazigh history and symbolism, with designs reflecting the personal expression of the weaver.
The tribe was previously part of the larger Ait Oumalou "people of the shadow". Unlike the monochromatic Beni Ourain rugs, Beni M’Guild rugs often feature rich, deep, and sometimes faded colors, such as purple, magenta, red, and orange, as well as earthy tones.
